Velux Skylight Installation in Portland

Velux makes the skylights and roof windows most Portland homeowners already recognize, and installing one well has less to do with the unit itself than with what happens at the roof deck around it. Elm Construction Services installs Velux skylights as part of our roofing and remodeling work, using the same flashing and moisture-management standards we hold on every roof.

Why Skylight Installation Is a Roofing Problem First

A skylight leak almost never starts inside the glass unit. It starts at the flashing where the frame meets the shingles or membrane around it, which is why we treat every skylight installation as a roofing detail.

That matters most in a market like Portland's, where a rainy fall and winter turn a small gap in the flashing into a stained ceiling by spring.

Adding or Replacing a Skylight in Portland

If you're planning a roof replacement, adding or repositioning a skylight is easiest while the roof is already open. If you already have one that's leaking or fogging, our crews can replace it without treating it as a separate project from the surrounding roof.

Call (971) 318-5112 to schedule a Velux skylight installation or repair in Portland, or send us the details through our contact page.
